Taking Land (Read time ≈ 3 minutes)
Numbers 33:53 And you shall take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given the land to you to possess it. Since the founding of our fellowship until now, the goal has always been the same. Advance the Gospel and take land for the Kingdom of Heaven. No we aren't talking about waging war and literally taking land from people or cities or countries. No, we do not wage war against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12). We are talking about taking spiritual land. We are talking about taking spiritual dominion and authority over our city, over sickness, over spiritual oppression, over sin, by the blood of Jesus Christ. In history, some wars have been short, literally beginning and ending within days and others take years to finish. Some wars have mass casualty, both warriors and innocent. This war? This war has been raging for centuries. But this war takes place all around us, at all times. If we're not paying attention we will miss it and likely become a casualty to it. This war has had countless casualties but also countless victories. Only God knows the numbers. What's different about this war is that, the war has already been won. The General of our army, Jesus Christ, the commander of Angel Armies, fought the winning battle about 2000 years ago. And those on the winning side (us) are not fighting to decimate an enemy, but rather to save those being used by the enemy. We fight this war as if it's still raging and as if victory is still hanging in the balance because, there are still captives to be set free. But make no mistake, we are not fighting for victory, we are fighting from victory. So as we fight for land we aren't fighting to gain an advantage or a stronghold of land, we are fighting to take dominion over the land to set the captives free, to see people saved from the rule of their harsh master and set free to live a life for the King, just as we have been. This is less of a blog and more of a rally cry. We are about to wage war on new territory. Are you ready for battle? Is your armor on (Ephesians 6:10-18)? Because it's about to go down. We are here to take the land for our King, to see people set free. As God said to Joshua, there is still much more land to possess (Joshua 13:1).
